Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas

Our family recently returned from a weeklong voyage in the Allure of the Seas. It was relaxing, but not boring.  We came home refreshed!  What a great way to celebrate our anniversary, even if we did bring our two teens along. Allure is one of Royal Caribbean's four Oasis-class ships, Royal Caribbean's largest class of ships.  While each ship is different, you can find many of the same facilities on each ship.  I was planning to tell you all about all 7 neighborhoods on the ship. I was going to tell you all the wonderful things there are to do [...]

Give the Gift of Memories this Holiday Season

Some of you may be already done with your holiday shopping. Good for you! I'm one of those that is often out at the last-minute finishing everything up. I have found that it's tougher and tougher to buy for my kids as they get older. Of course I want to get them what they have on their wish list, but I also want to get them something that they need. And the most important thing I want is to spend time with them. I know that my time is short with them, and I want to make the most of [...]

Quick Service Dining at Universal Studios

When visiting the three parks at Universal Studios Orlando, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay, you will want to try some of the incredible restaurants there.  If you want to make it super convenient for you, then I would highly recommend adding Universal’s quick service dining plan to your vacation.  On our last visit to Universal Studios in October 2019, we used this dining plan and loved it! So what does the quick service dining plan include?  For each child (age 3-9) and adult (age 10 and up) the quick service dining plan gives you: One quick service [...]

Beaches Negril

There are three Beaches resorts; two in Jamaica and one in the Turks & Caicos.  I visited the Turks & Caicos location with my family a few years ago, and last month I was fortunate enough to be invited to explore Beaches Negril.  My husband and I enjoyed this beautiful resort so much, and so will you! Beaches Negril is located on the widest stretch of Negril’s Seven Mile beach.  This beach has amazing white sands, and I’ll bet that you will want to spend most of your time there.  And with the many water sports that are included in [...]

Sandals South Coast in Jamaica

If you’re looking for a relaxing, beautiful resort in Jamaica, you should definitely consider Sandals South Coast.  This is one of my favorite resorts in Jamaica! This resort is on the southern coast of Jamaica, on a beautiful white sand beach.  This resort is set up into three authentic architecturally designed beach-front villages, the Italian Village, the Dutch Village and the French Village.  Each of the 372 rooms and suites is beach front in this resort!  Sandals South Coast also offers the one of a kind over-the-water butler bungalows.  No need to travel all the way to the South [...]

In our last article, I shared a lot of new things coming to some of your favorite Disney parks all over the world.  We're adding to that in this article with news about the Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney World. Disney Cruise Line The first of three new ships will be completed in 2021! This ship will be named the Wish, and the stern character on this ship will be Rapunzel.  The Wish will set sail in January 2022. There is also a new Disney port coming to the Bahamas! Coming to Disney Parks-Part 1!

On my visit to the D23 conference in August of this year, I was fortunate enough to be able to go to one of the panels I was looking forward to the most—the Disney parks panel!  As I told you in the last newsletter, this was the presentation on all of the new things coming to all of the Disney parks around the world!  I wanted to go into more detail about this panel, and let you know all of the new amazing things that will make you want to visit your favorite Disney parks again, or maybe all of [...]

News from the D23 Expo

If you’re not familiar with the D23 Expo, then you’re in the right place!  First of all, D23 is the ultimate Disney fan club.  The name D23 refers to D for Disney and the year 1923, when Walt Disney arrived in California and founded the company.  They hold the D23 Expo every two years in Anaheim, California.  The expo is held in the Anaheim Convention Center, within walking distance of Disneyland. The 2019 event was from August 23-25.  You can purchase tickets for one day, or all three days.  I was fortunate to be able to attend all three days.  [...]

Cruising Through the Holidays

When you think about the holidays, particularly Thanksgiving and Christmas, what do you think of?  Is it the presents or the decorations, or just spending time with loved ones?  If you first think of spending time with your family during the holidays, consider a holiday cruise this year instead of the usual gifts! Now this does depend a little bit on the ages of your kids.  It may be a little tougher to travel with babies, and younger kids may be worried that Santa won’t be able to find them on a cruise ship.  Or they may be sad if [...]
