One of our travel advisors, Christina Williams, recently experienced a vow renewal at Sandals Montego Bay, and she loved it!
If you’re not aware of the vow renewal service at Sandals or Beaches, this is the ultimate way to say “I love you” all over again. This service is very similar to a destination wedding, just without the legal paperwork, of course. So if you didn’t have the wedding of your dreams, or if you just want to share your love with family and friends all over again, a vow renewal, or Retie the Knot as it’s known at Sandals and Beaches, is the perfect opportunity for you! The wedding staff at Sandals or Beaches takes care of every detail, both before you arrive and during your stay. You will meet with a wedding planner before you travel to set up the details: your colors, place settings, location for the ceremony and more. Then when you arrive at your resort you will meet with the planners onsite to make sure everything is just as you imagined. Here is Christina’s experience at Sandals Montego Bay.
“In the thick of COVID, a familiar commercial comes on the television. The beautiful blue water, the lush white sand, and the familiar Sandals logo embedded in the pool. I was captivated by the commercial and suddenly felt the need to go. It was April 2021. My husband and I just moved into our newly built single-family home. I knew I would need some time to pay off our trip. Sandals offered a great special to get people booked and ready to travel almost 2 years out (or longer) for their experience. I knew that year, I was scheduled to have surgery to remove cancer and I knew I needed some time to heal. I ran to my husband and said “hey babe, we should go to Jamaica to celebrate our 10-year anniversary”. Without hesitation, he agreed.
I went online, filled out a contact form for a vow renewal ceremony, and waited for Sandals to contact me. They didn’t hesitate. By the end of the week, we were booked for our vow renewal ceremony and were assigned a specialist who would help us along the way.
We were offered specials – get a group of people to attend to get perks such as money back, extras for your ceremony/reception, etc. We were able to get 5 additional guest rooms and an additional guest who stayed on a property not affiliated with Sandals.
Prior to our arrival, we chose our reception food choices and completed all steps of the process before the big day. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly faces and tons of rum punch. We were taken to the wedding guests’ area for check-in and provided an itinerary of our time there – time and date to finalize vow renewal plans, excursion information (from an excursion we booked), etc.
We had the time of our lives. Our guests enjoyed themselves. We enjoyed dinner at Tokyo Joe’s with our guests and had poolside lunch with some of the best jerk chicken lollipops and Bob Marley signature drinks. We had a photo shoot on the water and enjoyed breakfast near the ocean each morning.
On the day of the vow renewal, we had an emotional yet beautiful ceremony on the terrace. Our reception immediately followed with a bar for our guests, a signature Apply Ever After cocktail, and light music. As we headed back to our rooms, we had a special dinner planned at the Oleander Room with a four-course meal and printed customized menus. We truly had a time. Our guests were welcomed and we were spoiled. Sandals offered water sports activities on site and had plenty of evening activities such as the silent party in which my brother loudly stole the show.
Sandals are known as the perfect getaway for couples but Sandals is also the best resort for celebration. I’m so grateful that after healing from cancer, my husband and I were able to celebrate 10 years of love, marriage, and bliss at one of the most enchanting resorts.”
