If you’re thinking of a luxury, all-inclusive vacation, then Sandals is a fabulous option! However, each Sandals resort has a very different feel to it, so sometimes it can be tough to decide on which one to visit! One great option is Sandals Barbados or Royal Barbados. These resorts are right next to each other, so it’s really like getting two resorts in one! It is very easy to walk from one resort to the other, so you’re able to enjoy the pools, beaches, and restaurants from either resort when you visit.
Let’s first talk about Sandals Barbados. This resort was built first, and it was the first resort in Barbados for couples only. Sandals Barbados offers 280 luxury, Club Sandals, and Butler rooms and suites. There are 11 dining options at Sandals Barbados, and includes a few of my favorites, Soy and Butch’s Chophouse! There are 8 bars, 3 freshwater pools here and 2 whirlpools here.
One of the highest-level rooms at Sandals Barbados is the Beachfront Penthouse One Bedroom Butler Suite with Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub. In this room, you will enjoy personal butler service throughout your stay, and have a fabulous view of the gorgeous beach.
Sandals Royal Barbados is the newer resort and offers 338 Club Sandals and Butler rooms and suites. This resort also offers the largest glass-fronted infinity pool in
the Eastern Caribbean, and boasts Sandals’ first roof top restaurant, cantilever roof top bar (where you will be served the most amazing cocktails!), roof top pool and roof top whirlpool overlooking the ocean! And the roof top pool is usually not nearly as crowded as the other pools can be. There are 9 dining options at Royal Barbados, including the health and wellness inspired Green House and Heart & Sol. Royal Barbados also has one of the best breakfast options at La Parisienne on the roof. There are 6 bars, 8 freshwater pools, and 4 whirlpools here.
Sandals Royal Barbados also has Lover’s Lane, a two-lane bowling alley for some friendly competition. The bar here offers many craft beers to enjoy while bowling a few frames. I thought that with only two lanes there would be a wait, but we never really had to wait long at all. It’s a great way to spend an evening during your visit.
One of the highest category rooms at Royal Barbados is the Beachfront One Bedroom Skypool Butler Suite with Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub, which I was able to tour on my last visit. This spectacular beachfront suite offers direct access to your own private cantilevered Sky Pool with an infinity edge. In this pool, you will feel like you are floating in the sky!
These resorts are only a short 15-minute ride from the Barbados airport. Both resorts sit along a beautiful white-sand beach, perfect for romantic walks. And both resorts offer water sports such as kayaking, paddleboards, windsurfing, Hobie Cats, and complimentary snorkeling and scuba diving (for certified divers only). Both resorts offer relaxing spa treatments, such as facials or couple’s massages at their own Red Lane Spa, and each resort has its own fitness club, to work off the delicious food you’ll be enjoying!
