Disney shared some amazing news this week about their all-new cruise ship, the Disney Wish, which will bring Disney magic to guests in summer of 2022! And we can begin booking the general public on May 27, 2021!
Wow, there are so many details about this new ship that I don’t know where to start! The Disney Wish will take you into a world where wishes come true! While we don’t know all of the new experiences onboard the Disney Wish, I did want to share a few with you so that you will be as excited as I am for this new cruise adventure!
First let’s talk about dining. You may already know that dining aboard any of the Disney cruise ships is an experience like no other. But on the Disney Wish, there will be 3 all-new, upscale family restaurants for you to experience.
- Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure is Disney’s first Frozen-themed dining experience. You will be transported to the magical world of Arendelle through immersive live entertainment with your favorite Frozen characters like Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf! This restaurant will offer world-class Norwegian-inspired cuisine made by Oaken himself!
- Worlds of Marvel is the first-ever Marvel cinematic dining adventure for the entire family! Guests will be drawn into their own action-packed Avengers mission that unfolds around them. This dining experience will offer a global menu with fare from classic American dishes to rich African flavors.
- 1923 is named for the year that The Walt Disney Studios was founded. This dining experience is a celebration of the company’s spirit, paying homage to the glitz and glamour of old Hollywood. The menu here will offer dishes inspired by the state of California, with tantalizing flavors.
You may have enjoyed the many different types of entertainment onboard a Disney cruise ship, and the Disney Wish will bring entertainment to an all-new level! Disney is combining innovative design, technology and storytelling to bring you into the world of Disney magic!
- The Grand Hall will offer the first-ever atrium stage on a Disney ship. Shows and interactive entertainment will come to life around the hall, where you can play a special role in the magic.
- Luna will offer a variety of family-fun entertainment during the day and then transform into an elegant evening venue for adult-exclusive entertainment.
- The Hero Zone is a futuristic sports arena. Enjoy action-packed challenges and game show-style competitions for the entire family here!
- The Walt Disney Theatre will come alive in the evenings with original Broadway-style state productions exclusive to the Disney Cruise Line.
- The Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas will offer you more options than ever to watch classic and first-run films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and more!
Some of the best things about a Disney cruise are the activities for the kids, and the Disney Wish will not disappoint! The Disney’s Oceaneer Club, with activities for kids ages 3-12) has been reimagined to wow your kids, featuring more spaces and activities than ever before!
- Marvel Super Hero Academy will allow young “recruits” to train to be the next generation of super heroes, with the help of characters like Spider-Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp.
- Fairytale Hall allows princes and princesses to let their imagination and creativity shine at Rapunzel’s Art Studio, Belle’s Library and Anna and Elsa’s Sommerhus.
- The Walt Disney Imagineering Lab gives kids the opportunity to discover the secrets of Disney Imagineers with hands-on activities and exciting experiments.
And Disney hasn’t forgotten about the little ones or the tween and teens either! It’s a Small World Nursery offers babysitting for your little ones age 6 months to 3 years. And the Edge (for ages 11-14) and Vibe (for ages 14-17) are amazing hangout spots where the teens and tweens will love to hang out in a space just for them.
While your kids are having the time of their life in spaces just for them, there are also a few fabulous areas of the ship just for adults!
- Exclusively on the Disney Wish, you can enjoy some out-of-this-world cocktails at the Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge.
Families can enjoy this stellar experience during the day, but then it becomes a club exclusively for adults at night. - Just like on the other Disney cruise ships, adults can enjoy a romantic dinner at the adult-only Palo Steakhouse. Onboard the Disney Wish, the Palo that you know and love has evolved into an amazing dining experience inspired by Cogsworth, the enchanted clock from Beauty and the Beast, with a selection of mouth-watering premium steaks and delectable Italian dishes.
- The Quiet Cove is a relaxing, adult-only pool area that features an infinity pool, bar and poolside lounge to allow you to relax and float the day away!
- Enchante is an adults-only restaurant inspired by the lovable Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast. This innovative menu offers classic French cuisine crafter by Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement. Enjoy the ultimate romantic dinner where you can relax and enjoy the enchantment.
- Enjoy a cocktail before dinner at the Rose, an elegant adult-only lounge inspired by enchanted castle in the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast.
- Of course the Disney Wish will also offer the definitive pampering experiences at Senses Spa. Enjoy spa and beauty treatments here or keep the calories off in the fitness center and spin studio!
You already know that Disney cruise ships offer staterooms like no other cruise line, and the Wish keep that Disney magic alive too. Every stateroom will offer that touch of Disney storytelling with a luxurious touch. Most of the ship’s 1254 staterooms will offer an ocean view, with 70% of rooms offering a verandah for a little extra space for families. And the Disney Wish also offers more connecting rooms than ever to accommodate larger families.
The Disney Wish will also offer and extra bit of luxury in their Concierge Oceanview Staterooms, which include the first-ever forward-facing views in Tangled or Little Mermaid-inspired spaces. Or really splurge and stay in one of the four Royal Suites, two of which offer two levels with a spiral staircase and a stained-glass work of art! It’s a magical Disney experience you won’t soon forget!
So now I’m sure you’re ready to set sail on the Disney Wish! The maiden voyage is now set for June 9, 2022 and offers a five-night cruise to Nassau and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. After that, the inaugural season will offer three- and four-night cruises to the same destinations from Port Canaveral.
