The Haven Swim-Out Suites
Wishes & Dreams Travel was fortunate enough to travel to Cancun, Mexico recently. We toured several resorts to get a hands-on feel for our clients. It was fantastic to actually get to see these resorts that we want to recommend for our clients!
We stayed at the Catalonia Playa Maroma resort during our stay. This is a nice budget-friendly resort with a beautiful beach! We had one day to just relax and enjoy the resort, and we took full advantage! The highlight of that day was enjoying the hydrotherapy at the spa. We were able to relax in the sauna, steam room, shower and the jacuzzi. It was amazing! After that, we took full advantage of that gorgeous beach. This resort is a family resort but could also be great for girlfriend groups.
We toured several resorts for many different types of clients, which was awesome. I love to have options for anyone that comes to Wishes & Dreams Travel, to give them a few options to find the perfect resort.
Secrets Maroma Beach
If you’re looking for a fabulous ultra-luxury resort for adults only, then look no further than the Haven Riviera Cancun. This all-suite resort will pamper you from beginning to end! The rooms here are just stunning, and I know you will love their two incredible pools. This resort would also be perfect for a destination wedding!
Another excellent option for adults-only is the Secrets Maroma Beach. The beach here is one of the best I have ever seen, with blue waters almost too good to be true! The swim-out suites would be a wonderful option for a honeymoon, where you can just open your patio doors and step right into the pool. The restaurant options at this resort look first-rate too, especially the intimate French and Italian restaurants.
For a super-fun vibe for families, I loved the Margaritaville Island Reserve resort. This resort has bright colors and fun music throughout. And the family rooms would be a great option for mom and dad and the kids, with a connecting room for grandma and grandpa to have their own space! This resort definitely has their Jimmy Buffet references everywhere, so if you’re a fan you have to visit this resort!
If you really want to have the feeling of the Mexican culture on your vacation, then you will love the Valentin Imperial Maya. This resort really does make you realize that you’re in Mexico. It is really a one-of-a-kind resort, and the beach was beautiful here as well. I especially loved all the covered beach beds on the resort! That’s where I would be!
If you want a resort that has a ton of activities included, then look no further than the Hotel Xcaret, and the Hotel Xcaret Arte! The Hotel Xcaret is for families, and the Xcaret Arte side is adults-only. But everyone staying here also gets tickets to ALL the Xcaret and Xel-Ha parks. There you can go ziplining, snorkeling, be part of a Mexican party and more!
If you have a larger family or a group of friends traveling together, then you may want to look at The Fives Beach & Residences in Playa del Carmen. They had amazing large residences that could accommodate a group. And the huge pool was perfect for those that wanted to have fun, fun and more fun! There was definitely a lively vibe at this resort.
Catalonia Costa Mujeres is a brand-new resort! This option also comes in at a great price for families or adults. This is an all-suite resort, and every suite has a terrace or a balcony to fully enjoy the views here. I love the more modern look of this resort.
Hyatt Zilara Pool and Beach
The Hyatt Ziva and Zilara resorts offer something for everyone! The Hyatt Ziva resort is for families, and the Hyatt Zilara is adults only. The Ziva resort is actually on a point, so you have amazing beach views on either side. And don’t forget the dolphins! Your kids will love seeing dolphins swimming in their own private pool. We had lunch at their buffet, and it was so delicious! I have to say it’s one of the best buffet restaurants I have ever dined at. The handmade sushi was the best! The Zilara resort has the most incredible wide beach, so you’ll never have an issue with it being too crowded. And I loved the swim-out rooms here too, with your own private oasis right outside of your balcony.
