The all-inclusive vacation is probably my favorite type of vacation. And I love doing most (if not all) of my planning before the trip even begins, so I can just relax and enjoy the resort when I arrive. I don’t want to have to worry about budgeting for things like food, drinks, or fun during the day. If you love the beach, you’ll get to experience some of the best beaches in the world at an all-inclusive resort.
With an all-inclusive vacation, your room, food and drinks are all included in your package price. The food and drinks are unlimited, and alcohol is also included. So if your little one wants a snack at 3:00 in the afternoon, you can just go to one of the restaurants or snack bars and get something to tide you over until dinner! Or if you order a new type of drink and decide you don’t like it, just order something different! It’s a great way to try new foods and drinks without worrying that you’re paying for something you might not like.
At most all-inclusive resorts, there are also great things to occupy your days that are also included in your package price. This usually includes non-motorized water sports, like a kayak or windsurfing. And if you’ve never tried these things before, don’t worry! The resorts offer lessons to get you started! Some resorts even offer other types of activities for no extra cost. This could include scuba diving (for certified divers), snorkeling trips, or golf. There are also always entertainment for the kids! All-inclusive resorts offer a kid’s club for your younger children, with activities planned throughout the day. Most resorts also offer clubs for the older kids too, with things like ping pong, pool, volleyball or dance parties!
And don’t forget your nightly entertainment! Most resorts offer nightly shows that include local culture, song and dance, and more! There also might be beach parties, piano bars or other things to make your nights complete.
Another type of vacation that is a wonderful option at an all-inclusive resort is a destination wedding. All of these resorts offer a wedding planner onsite, and they will help you plan the perfect wedding for you and your family. And some resorts even offer a FREE basic wedding package with your stay! You can have a spectacular wedding on the beach, or at other spaces set up just for weddings throughout the resort.
So what’s not included at an all-inclusive resort? There are a few things that are not included, and these vary by resort. Here are just some of the experiences that are usually an extra fee at most resorts:
- Excursions outside of the resort
- At some resorts, scuba trips are not included in the cost of your package
- And if you’re not a certified diver, scuba certification courses are an extra fee
- Special experiences, like a candlelight dinner on the beach
- Spa treatments
- Wi-fi at some resorts
- Gratuities
